Meadowfest, September 7th through 9th. A weekend of drumming, dancing, ritual, potlucks, and cool people. Sára, the organizer of the event, led the main ritual at Dragonfest this year and is a generally fun and interesting person. I got the flier for the event from one of my favorite "see 'em every year at 'fest" folks, so I know at least two awesome people will be there besides me.

Speaking of drumming and dancing, both will be in abundance on Saturday at Bob's "Erie" (I-25 and CO-52 is actually actually closer to Frederick) drum circle. Let me know if you'd like directions or more information. Edit: The official announcement email. I broke my little toe last night. Maybe I'll focus more on drumming than dancing this week.

Also speaking of drumming, every Tuesday at Full Moon Books at 7:30. The last few I've made it to have been rockin'.

On my birthday (Wednesday, September 26th), The Chemical Brothers are playing at the Fillmore in Denver. The Sunday prior, Days of the New will play at the Bluebird for only $13.

Beyond that, I'm trying to spend as many weekends as I can in the mountains before it gets too cold for camping and too snowy for hiking. Let me know if a hot springs trip, camping excursion, or short hike appeals to you.

O! You are invited to a BBQ at my trailer #71 at the trailer park on 30th and Valmont.

Sunday. 3pm. I will be stocking veggie burgers too. Bring Friends.

I wanna go! I wanna go! I wanna go!

I'm planning to be in Longmont Saturday evening anyway, so I'm practically there!
I think you've got my email. Directions? Time? What should I bring apart from drums?

I found the drum circle link off Sara's site, with directions et al. So nevermind. Thanks. Very possibly see you there.

Yes, to the hot springs, camping, or short hike. Although the timing may be tricky.

Send me an email with some times you're available and we'll see what might work.

Which hot springs? I've taken to going to Valley View once a month in the fall/spring (going next weekend) but would also love to go to ones closer to here (if there are any).
Do you ever hike in Golden Gate? I'd be up for that, as it's really close to my house but I won't hike alone anymore. Let me know if yes....-- alison

Valley View is my favorite too, though I haven't been up there since May. For a short stint of relaxation, I sometimes go to Idaho Springs, but last time I was there the men's cave was too hot to relax. Hot Sulphur Springs (a little past Winter Park) is closer to Denver than Valley View is. It's clothing-mandatory, so it's a good place to take friends and relatives who visit from out of town and aren't so much in the run around naked category. One of these days I'd like to get up to Strawberry Hot Springs in Steamboat. Maybe that'll be a goal this fall. By the time I get an unplanned weekend, Conundrum will probably be inadvisable and I'm not sure I'm up for hiking nine miles with camping gear. Maybe that's a goal for next year.

I was actually thinking about hiking Golden Gate tomorrow (Sunday). My broken toe feels better, so hiking should be feasible. Send me an email (make up a user name @ trevorstone dot org) and we can come up with a time.

Oh man, I worked all day today (Sunday). Am tentatively planning hike for Thursday with a co-worker at Golden Gate. Will do on the email. Cheers! -- alison
